Starting from 1 March 2021 onwards, international flights with transit/transfer passengers shall be permitted only at Suvarnabhumi International Airport.
Transit/transfer passengers shall not go outside the specified area (i.e., transit/transfer area). The time period of each transit/transfer operation shall not exceed 12 hours.
Each passenger shall possess the complete set of documents which are:
1. Medical certificate with a laboratory result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected by RT-PCR technique, issued no more than 72 hours before departure, OR Vaccine Certificate (vaccine must be approved by WHO). Those with vaccination certificate must be fully vaccinated no less than 14 days prior to departure from the origin.
2. **Non-Thai nationals only** Medical insurance which covers treatment and medical expenses in relation to COVID 19, with a minimum coverage of 100,000 USD for their entire stay period in Thailand. (Passenger can also buy health insurance at https://covid19.tgia.org/)
Important notes:
1. Transit/transfer passengers are not required to register for Certificate of Entry (COE) with the Royal Thai Embassy/Royal Thai Consulate-General.
2. There shall be no COVID-19 screening or laboratory service at the transit/transfer area in the airport. In case that the destination port requires COVID-19 test from transit/transfer airport, the passengers will not be able to take COVID-19 test in Suvarnabhumi International Airport during transit period.
3. Since transit/transfer passengers are not allowed to leave transit/transfer area, the passengers need to check with airlines regarding the check-in baggage. The passengers will not be able to leave transit/transfer area to retrieve the baggage and check in again.
4. Passengers who wish to transit at Suvarnabhumi International Airport need to book flight ticket in advance at least 48 hours before departure.
