Transit Visa:

Issued for up to 30 days. Applicant is not permitted to engage in any occupation or employment. A confirmed ticket for onward destination must be shown to the officer at the port of entry.
Application fee: NIS 120 per entry

Requirements for Other Traveling Documents

Holders of traveling documents other than passports may require a visa for Thailand. Please contact the Thai Embassy for detailed information.

Short Transit to Other Destinations without Leaving the Airport

Foreigners, who travel via Thailand to other destinations from the same port of entry, are allowed to transit without a visa. In this regard, the Thai Immigration Division is authorized to instruct the airlines or persons in charge of the transit to ensure that the transit passengers remain in a prescribed area. Should the transit passengers be forced for any reason to remain in the prescribed area for a period longer than expected, the Immigration Division may allow such passengers to do so under guarantees by the airlines or persons in charge of the transit.

Nationals of the above-mentioned countries may stay up to 30 days in Thailand without a visa, provided that they hold a valid passport and enter Thailand for touristic purpose. Moreover, these nationals do not need to apply for a transit visa, providing they are in possession of a confirmed ticket out of Thailand. This regulation came into effect in February 1995. Countries which have concluded an agreement with Thailand on the exemption of visa: New Zealand, Republic of Korea. Nationals of these two countries who are holders of ordinary passports may stay 90 days in Thailand without a visa. Period of stay in Thailand according to visa classification.

Entry without Visa

Israeli passport holders can enter Thailand via land crossing for up to 15 days or via air crossing up to 30 days without a visa and must be in procession of a valid outward air or land ticket dated for less than 30 days from their date of entering Thailand.

Diplomatic and Official Passports

Diplomatic and official visas will be issued to holders of diplomatic or official or service passports free of charge upon request by official letters.

The countries of which the holders of diplomatic, official or service passports do not need visas for staying in Thailand up to 90 days are:

Albania, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Bhutan, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia (Diplomatic only), France (Diplomatic only), Germany, Hungary, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea (ROK), Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, The Netherlands, Nepal, Panama, Peru, The Philippines, Poland, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain (Diplomatic only), Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, Uruguay.

For Mongolia, the holders of diplomatic, official or service passport are permitted to stay up to 30 days without visa.

For Laos, the holders of diplomatic passports are permitted to stay up to 30 days without a visa.

Minimum Currency Limit

When Entering Thailand:

1. Holders of a transit visa or those who enter Thailand without a visa are required to possess not less than the equivalent amount of 5,000 Baht per person or 10,000 Baht per family.

2. Holders of a Tourist Visa -- not less than the equivalent amount of 10,000 Baht per person or 20,000 Baht per family.

3. Holders of a Non-immigrant Visa -- not less than the equivalent amount of 10,000 Baht per person or 20,000 Baht per family.

The above requirements do not apply to minors under 12 years old.

Questions & Answers on Tourist Visa for Israeli Nationals

Where can I apply for a tourist visa?

You can apply for Thai tourist visa at the Royal Thai Embassy in Herziliya Pituach from Monday – Friday (excluding Thai and Israeli national holidays) between 9.00 - 11.30 am.

How much does a Tourist Visa cost?

It costs 150 shekels in cash for each visa entry. Cheques and credit cards are not accepted for payment.

When will my visa be ready?

Usually on the afternoon of the next full working day (if you apply on a Thursday or a Friday then it will be ready the following Monday afternoon between 14.00 – 16.00 hrs).

How long will my visa be valid for?

The visa is valid for 3 months from the date of issue.

With a Tourist visa, how long will I be permitted to stay in Thailand?

For Israeli nationals up to 60 days from the moment you arrive by airplane in Thailand. 

You may apply for an extension of stay at the nearest Thai Immigration Office (http://www.immigration.go.th) where you may be permitted to stay for up to a further 30-day period.  You must extend your visa before your stay permit expires, otherwise you will be fined 500 Baht for each day that you overstay in Thailand.  

Can I enter Thailand without a visa?

Nationals of Israel are eligible to travel to Thailand, for tourism purpose, with the exemption of visa and are permitted to stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 30 days. 

However, please make sure that you are in possession of a passport valid for at least 6 months, a round-trip air ticket, and adequate finances equivalent to at least US$1,000 per person or US$2,000 Baht per family.  Otherwise you may be inconvenienced upon entry into the country.

Furthermore, an Israeli who enters Thailand under this Tourist Visa Exemption Scheme may re-enter and stay in Thailand for a cumulative duration of stay of not exceeding 90 days within any 6-month period from the date of first entry.

If you enter Thailand by a land crossing you will normally be allowed to stay for upto 15 days without a visa.

How long before I travel should I apply for a visa?

If approved, your visa will normally be ready to collect on the afternoon of the next full working day (excluding Thai and Israeli holidays) but in some circumstances further additional/supportive documents may be required that may extend this period.

Can any nationality apply for a visa at your Embassy?

The Embassy will accept visa applications from the holders of ordinary Israeli passports.

An Israeli national who wishes to apply for a visa using a non-Israeli passport must provide a clear photocopy of their Israeli passport and Israeli I.D., flight, and hotel reservation when applying for their visa.

A non-Israeli citizen holding  a foreign passport who has an Israeli work visa, study visa or resident’s visa can normally apply for a visa at this Embassy.

Children Under 16

Parents must complete a Parent’s Consent Form for children under 16 travelling to Thailand.
