Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv hosted the Reception on the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand on 5 December 2017 at Hilton Hotel, Tel Aviv attended by many distinguished guests from the Israeli Government, diplomatic crops, public and private sectors and Thai community, including H.E. Mr. Ayoub Kara Minister of Communications, Guest of Honour, Mr. Meron Reuben, Chief of State Protocol, Mr. Gilad Cohen, Deputy Director General, Head of Asia and Pacific Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  H.E. Ms. Penprapa Vongkovit, Ambassador to Israel delivered speech emphasise the importance of 5 of December as the National Day, the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Thailand's Father 's Day.  In addition, the UNGA has declared the 5 of December as "the World Soil Day" This year also marked a very special occasion for Thais, a saldalwood laying ceremony to bid a sad final farewell to His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol was held in Israel at the Thai – Israel Friendship Pavilion in Ben Shemen Park, Modi’in.  Ambassador further stated the relation between Thailand and Israel has reached the 63th anniversary this year, with close cooperation in the field of labour and agriculture and hoped that both countries will foster closer relation and cooperation in the field of Green technology, medicine and pharmaceutical, and start-ups.
