A Ceremony to Repatriate the Bodies of 2 Thai workers Killed in a Rocket Attack

On 25 May 2021, the Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv organized a ceremony to repatriate the bodies of Mr. Weerawat Karunborirak and Mr. Sikharin Sangamram, two Thai agricultural workers who tragically passed away in a rocket attack on 18 May 2021 at Moshav Ohad. The ceremony took place in front of the El Al cargo office at Ben Gurion International Airport.

The ceremony was attended by Ms. Pannabha Chandraramya, Ambassador of Thailand to Israel, Mr. Ziv Bilaus, Director of Liaison Department, Ms. Dalia Grad-Efrat, Liaison Department, Consular Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, a representative from Ben Gurion Airport, along with officers and staff members of the Royal Thai Embassy.

Attendants lighted candles and held a moment of silence in memory of the two workers. The bodies will be flown to Thailand on the Embassy’s repatriation flight to send Thai workers and citizens in Israel to Thailand. The flight, LY081 operated by El Al, is scheduled to depart Ben Gurion International Airport at 22.00 hours on 25 May 2021 and arrive at Suvarnabhumi International Airport at 12.30 hours on 26 May 2021. The bodies will be then transported to their hometowns in Phetchabun and Buriram Province. 

Passengers on this flight include 18 Thai workers from Moshav Ohad who were affected by the rocket attack on 18 May 2021, among them, Mr. Jakkri Ratphonthee and Mr. Thanadol Khanthachai, the two workers who were injured from the attack.
