Ambassador of Thailand to Tel Aviv led a group of 11 Israeli Start-ups to Thailand to discuss the potential collaboration in technology and innovation between Thailand and Israel

During 5-7 August 2024, Ms. Pannabha Chandraramya, Ambassador of Thailand to Tel Aviv, led a group of 11 Israeli Start-ups in the field of AgriTech, FoodTech, ClimateTech, Waste management and Environment Tech, and investment, namely Agrinoze, Seymour, GLA-ECO, Vgarden, Wastepoint, AWZ, GMAFCON Security Technologies, Afcon Software Solution, Magos, Zooz Power, and Fruit-OH, to Thailand to discuss the potential collaboration in technology and innovation between Thailand and Israel.

On 6 August 2024, the Embassy hosted a seminar titled the "Promotion of Technology and Innovation Cooperation between Thailand and Israel" at Anantara Siam Hotel, which served as a platform for Israeli Start-ups to share their technology and innovation with the Thai audience from the government and private sectors, as well as interested investors.  The Embassy also organised business matching sessions and a lecture on “Exploring Trade, Investment, and Start-up Collaboration Opportunities in Thailand” with the speakers from the Board of Investment (BOI) the National Innovation Agency (NIA) and the Thai-Israel Chamber of commerce.  There were approximately 90 participants attended the seminar and the business matching activities.

Mr. Dusit Manapan, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, delivered the opening remarks, encouraged the Thai side to learn from Israel, which is dubbed as the world’s renown Start-up Nation, to create opportunities for growth in traditional businesses using technology and innovation, which is in line with the government's "Ignite Thailand" policy. 

In addition, Ms. Pannabha Chandraramya, Ambassador of Thailand to Tel Aviv, also stated the objectives of the seminar as an opportunity to strengthen the foundation for Thai Start-ups and to create networks and technology transfer to help increase the Thai Start-ups’ competitiveness on the global scale.   Mrs. Orna Sagiv, Ambassador of Israel to Thailand also gave a briefing on the Israeli Start-up ecosystem and expressed her readiness to support the two countries’ effort to further the cooperation in these areas.

Additional activities hosted by the Embassy during the visit also included the networking dinner with Mr. Sanan Angubolkul, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of Trade of Thailand and representatives from related agencies on 6 August 2024 to discuss ways and means to expand collaborations between Thailand and Israel, as well as a visit to TechSauce Global Expo 2024 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center on 7 August 2024.
